Hangover Cures

Hangovers are a common element of student life. Some people seem to suffer more than others, but there are some things you can try to combat the dreaded hangover:

Before bed...

  • Drink water when you get in before bed, alcohol dehydrates you and so by drinking water you can put some fluid back into your body.
  • Try and have some glucose before you go to bed - even if it's having a few sugar lumps and washing it down with a litre of water.



The morning after...

  • Drink water when you wake up, and have some fruit (you lose minerals and vitamins when you drink and urinate!). Fruit will put lost vitamins back into your body.
  • An energy drink can help to put minerals and sugars back into your body which you lost the previous night.
  • Have a carbonated drink even you can't stomach any food - coke is perfect as it put's glucose back into your body and the bubbles fill you up so that your stomach doesn't feel so empty



These aren’t going to make you feel better instantly, but will help you to get back to normal better and relieve the symptoms of your hangover
