Duffer Of St.George Argyle Placket Cardigan
Fancy a bit of a splurge? This fine number from Duffer doesn't come cheap at £85 (you don't even get a student discount at Urban Outfitters) but it is nice and is 100% wool so it'll keep you warm (just trying to give you an excuse to spend £85 on a cardigan).

You can get it in either navy or grey - the grey one is finished with black detail, but because it's wool you'll have to handwash it. We'd keep an eye on this to see if the price gets knocked down in the sales over the next few weeks.

Lyle & Scott Pima Cotton Cardigan
Another expensive piece of knitwear at £79 this classic cardie with from Lyle & Scott has a deep-V button up front with rib knit hem and cuffs - Ronnie Barker would be proud.
