Clearing Deferring Extenuating Circumstances
University ClearingIf for any reason you don’t get the grades you need when you open that envelope there is no harm in phoning up your first choice University and asking if they’ll still accept you with the grades which you’ve achieved. You have nothing to lose and they may just surprise you and say yes during the clearing process. If this fails, university clearing is a way forward for you if you don’t want to take resits in the following year. Over 30,000 students gain a place during clearing every year. Uni Clearing is available to all students from August who have completed an application but unfortunately haven’t been able to secure a place at University. This is how university clearing works: 1. Courses that have vacancies will be on the Clearing section of the UCAS website, as well as in The Independent newspaper. 2. You can view the vacancies and then directly contact the University to discuss your options. 3. The University will then consider your application. 4. If your application is accepted you will then be offered a place at the University! |
